In my opinion, skydiving is the
closest you can get to flying. An indescribable und unbelievable
feeling, which means entire freedom of the body and mind.
The feeling of being one with the sky and the air, we are
breathing. If you skydive you can imagine why birds sing.
I got addicted to skydiving in the year 2000 after my first
tandem jump at the dropzone Kassel/Calden (about 250 km north
of Frankfurt). My tandem pilot was Steffen Schiedek, a member
of the German National 8-Way team. A fact that didn't interest
me at all at the time facing the aircraft, which was supposed
to bring us up to altitude. I was more concerned about getting
savely back to the ground, being tragged along by Steffen,
a guy I had just met ten minutes ago.
Well he did bring us back to the ground savely and with a
smile on my face and an urge in my tummy to get up in the
sky again as soon as possible. I left the dropzone this day
with the following words on my lips: "I'll be back!"
In the same year, from the 29th of July till the 5th of August,
I started my skydiving course at the dropzone and ever since
I have been jumping as skydiving has become my passion and
my love. Till today there have been 480 jumps and a lot of
fun in the sky as well as on the ground.
My favorite way to exit an airplane is with a bunch of friends
doing formation skydiving. There is nothing better in the
world then a good 4 way on a sunny day. The sky is more then
blue, it is magical at this time for you and those who surround
you.
The feeling I have while jumping is not describable to anybody
who hasn't had the chance to skydive yet. It gives me chills
up and down my spine and this huge smile. It is relaxing
and makes you forget the ordinary everyday life. You treasure
everything a little more then before jumping, being happy
with what you got. I wanna let people, relatives and friends
be part of this feeling. That is why I try to convince as
many people to jump as I can. It is the most wonderful
sight, seeing the fear replaced by a smile after the
first skydive. (I offer hand holding service, if the fear
is to much to handle, as well as encourageing words!)
If you wanna know more about skydiving by now, just look
at www.skydive.de (unfortunately
this website is in German) or email me and I will answer
your questions.
Besides jumping it's the people, who affected
me most over the past years. It's the nice get togethers
at a campfire, the beer and the talks about the passing day
and the new one to come. This is my own world, which I share
with people, who have the same passion, who understand. You
are more then welcome to join us over here in our small paradies.
„Blue Skies and soft Landings“ and see you somewhere
on a dropzone around the world. The next 500 jumps will cetainly
be as exciting as the last ones. The sky is not the limit,
it is an opportunity for those who are willing to try ;-)
