New Zealand. The land on the other side of the world, which has still quiet an influence on me. I have been travelling as well as working over there and brought back wonderful memories, which will never fade.

I have been there for the first time in 2005, when 20 strangers became 20 friends, which I love and treasure very much. I got to know people, who are still with me in some way I can't describe, helping me get through my life and make me smile from time to time. My first steps along the path of Frodo and Sam couldn't have been any better. I will always, and I mean always, rememeber our adventures, the laughs, the excitment and of course the good food. A big thank you to Red Carpet Tours, to Anwen, Vic, Raewyn (who was very patient with me) and Anwen's Acolytes.

The second time was in 2006, this time for 6 months in Christchurch on the South Island (also known as the main land). I have revived some of my former friendships as well as made some new ones along the way. I expanded my own horizons and of course faced new challenges, which I dared to take on. Who had thought before that I might jump of a bridge, twice. Well I haven't before meeting my encouraging friends.

However: at the end of every journey (no matter if it is 2 weeks or 6 months), there will be a smiling and a crying eye, as we say in German. There will be hope and longing to return someday. There and back again to New Zealand to renew my memories and craziness.
